As a maternity photographer based in Norwalk, Connecticut, I typically recommend scheduling maternity portraits between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this time, your baby bump is beautifully visible, but you are usually still comfortable enough to enjoy the experience.
Why 28–34 Weeks Works Best
Around this stage of pregnancy, your belly has a lovely round shape that photographs beautifully. It’s also generally a time when most mothers still feel energized and able to move comfortably during the session.
