Finding a maternity photographer in Greenwich CT should be a seamless process that puts you at ease and allows you to celebrate your moment. After all, as a mother, your life is filled with the importance of caring for and nurturing your little ones as you watch them grow. Making the decision to capture maternity photos should be an experience that allows you to step into your femininity. It should also be a time that allows you to soak up those final weeks of your pregnancy before labor begins. That precious time when it is just you and baby; before they are introduced to the world.

Cara chose to work with me as her Greenwich CT maternity photographer as she joyfully awaits the arrival of her sweet baby. When I work with expectant mothers on their maternity photos, I like to approach it as a collaborative effort. This means taking the time to listen to their needs while giving them creative control over what they desire out of their session. Every mother has a different vision. For some, it can be to create a look that is very editorial. For others, it can be a look or approach that conveys ease with the use of soft textures. I provide the flexibility that allows my clients to select clothing and attire that feels right for them. Typically, this means choosing a variety of gowns and outfits from my client closet as we work through their session. But, it can also be expanded to include anything of importance they wish to bring along with them to the shoot.

In the beginning planning stages of working as Cara’s Greenwich CT maternity photographer, I sent her a Pinterest board to help her narrow down her options. She had a few specific concepts in mind for her shoot. But there was one element, in particular, that was exceedingly precious about her maternity photos. Cara has a sweet little daughter who is over the moon about officially becoming a big sister. So, for a portion of her session, Cara wanted to work on photos that would convey the bond that her children will share as they grow and navigate the world together. For this approach, we used a belly-baring gown with soft flowy lace. This gown allowed Cara’s little girl to embrace her Mom with skin-to-skin contact and softly lay her head on Cara's bump. It was such a beautiful, yet simplistic way to showcase the bond of siblinghood.

Cara also requested a set of images that would leave her feeling empowered, while fully embracing her pregnancy. For this, we used a soft silk gown in a muted shade of pink to create an ethereal windblown look.
Typically, maternity sessions can last anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. This gives us the time we need to curate the images discussed during the planning process. But also the space to move at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. After all, welcoming a new baby into your family can be such a whirlwind. But scheduling maternity photos is a moment for you to press pause and praise your ability to safely carry your baby into the world.
